“VAGA  LUME” (Fire Fly) ASSOCIATION

“Vaga Lume” Association was founded in 2001 and has already benefited thousand people in the Amazon. Since 2004, counts with the support from D-R Guascor in order to carry out their social and cultural activities. The D-R Guascor is Vaga Lume‘s maintaining company, and Mrs. Sylvia Guimarães, president of the Association, outlines this partnership as follows:

"The partnership with Dresser-Rand Guascor is one of the most important to “Vaga Lume” Association. The company believes and invests in “Vaga Lume” as a whole and not only in their activities. With the support from D-R Guascor, we are able to professionally capacitate people, improve processes and the infrastructure. This is very uncommon. Usually, the sponsorship is given to NGO’s that have more visibility. Another outstanding aspect of this partnership is solidity. While many are interested in supporting isolated actions, the D-R Guascor is with us for many years, supporting our growth and contributing decisively to help children and the community involved in our project."

“BORBOLETA AZUL” (Blue Butterfly) PROJECT

The “Borboleta Azul” Project is the result of a partnership between Outward Bound Brasil (OBB) and Associação de Pais e Amigos dos Excepcionais de São Paulo – Apae/SP (São Paulo Association of Parents and Friends of Exceptional People), with the objective of stimulating the development of intellectually disabled young people through challenging outdoors activities .

The Dresser-Rand Guascor is OBB’s partner in this project. OBB is a non-profitable institution, world leader in outdoors educational programs development, which combines adventure with personal and professional development. Since 1941, millions of young people and adults have participated in its programs in one of the 54 schools established in 32 countries.
